Overview

ZD-CSVG-2000 dynamic hybrid reactive compensation device consists of two parts – static reactive generator unit and switching capacitor / reactor reactive compensation unit. In ZD-CSVG-2000 hybrid dynamic reactive compensation device, each unit is designed and produced in the method of low power, small volume and low cost, and both of them are optional, and can be combined in the best and flexible way according to the actual reactive state of the site, so as to achieve the optimum ratio of operation effect and cost.

Typical Design

The reactive compensation is usually configured on the basis of 30% of the transformer capacity, for example, 400KVA transformer is usually configured with 120kvar-capacity reactive compensation device, and in special cases, first test the power quality, and then confirm the configuration capacity according to the test result.

SVG module and capacitor capacity in the compensation capacity can be configured flexibly, to achieve the optimum  compensation effect.

ZD-CSVG-2000 hybrid dynamic reactive compensation device is a flexible, high performance and cost effective solution used to mitigate power quality problems generated by the equipment installed in electric power systems, enhancing equipment operating life-time, and improving power system capacity. These Smart Active Power Quality hybrid systems can be programmed to provide the following functions in real time:

  1. Eliminate harmonic currents and voltages.
  2. Power factor correction (lagging or leading).
  3. Reduction of voltage variations (sags and swells).
  4. Voltage fluctuations (flicker) mitigation.
  5. Load balancing in three-phase systems.
  6. The systems have the flexibility of a voltage range from 380V up to 690V.
  7. Step-up transformer. Over 1 kV we use a step-up transformer.

ZD-CSVG-2000 hybrid dynamic reactive compensation device  has many competitive Advantages:

  1. Stepless & Seemless output: No visible “steps” in the reactive power, achieving a better performance than only using capacitor bank or reactor bank steps.
  2. Complete power quality improvement solution for low or high voltage applications including real-time elimination of harmonics, flicker mitigation and load balancing.
  3. Only one CT-signal input required from the system: No need for duplicated CTs.
  4. No System Hunting. No need for extra controller for the capacitor bank or for the reactor bank.
  5. No need for different step ratios: Capacitor banks can be built with all steps of the same rating, making the design simple and needing only one type of capacitor unit in stock. Steps can be of largest suitable rating to optimize costs and reduce layout.
  6. Two operation modes: Ultra-fast mode for changing loads in open-loop, and PFC mode for traditional closed-loop control.
  7. Capacitive and inductive real-time reactive power compensation: The hybrid reactive compensation can also produce inductive reactive power. This ensures that there will be no overcompensation from steps or loads.
  8. Stable control as all power quality problems of the installation are managed by a single controller.
  9. Easy installation, commissioning and operation with touchscreen HMI.
  10. No risk of harmonic amplification or resonance in the system.
  11. Compact design and easily expandable.

Static Var generator/SVG is the new standard in reactive energy compensation.
