ZDDQ solutions for clean, inexpensive electricity for rural and remote regions.

statcom for solar power plant

Even today, in many parts of the world the electricity supply is still limited or only available with the help of diesel generators. Renewable energies and modern power electronics are opening up new possibilities for ensuring an economic energy supply. The most well-known alternatives to conventional power generation are solar power plants and wind farms that, in connection with an energy accumulator, are significantly more environmentally friendly and require no fuel costs or can at least markedly reduce fuel costs when used in combination with a diesel generator.

The use of energy accumulators is not limited to batteries. For example, electrolysis plants can use solar and wind energy to turn water (and carbon dioxide) into hydrogen (or natural gas). The gas generated in this process can be easily stored and used for a variety of applications, such as vehicles or combined heat and power plants. Regardless of whether or not they are connected to an integrated grid, the grids required for self-sufficient power supplies are referred to as microgrids. Modern power electronics from ZDDQ provide the required connections and make it possible to operate these microgrids without the use of a generator.
