We recently had the pleasure of hosting a dedicated team from Mexico for an intensive three-day Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and training program focused on Statcom (Static Synchronous Compensator) systems. It was an inspiring blend of technical validation, knowledge sharing, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Day 1: Deep Dive into Design & FAT Commencement
The session began with a thorough review of the Statcom’s design specifications, control philosophy, and compliance standards. Our engineers walked through the hardware configuration, software interface, and protection mechanisms. Post theory, we moved to the factory floor where the FAT officially began—testing control responses, harmonic performance, and dynamic voltage correction under various load scenarios. The engagement was high, with detailed discussions on grid adaptability for 6.6kV Statcom.

Day 2: Hands-On Training & Simulation
Day two was all about hands-on learning. The team engaged in live operations, from startup sequences to parameter tuning. Using our advanced simulation tools, we replicated real-grid disturbances to demonstrate the Statcom’s stability performance. Topics included reactive power control, fault ride-through, and remote monitoring setups. The interactive Q&A sessions highlighted our partners’ deep expertise and proactive approach to system optimization.

Day 3: Final Tests, Certification & Future Roadmap
The final day centered on concluding the FAT protocol, including temperature rise tests, insulation checks, and final compliance verification. We jointly signed off the FAT documents, marking a key milestone. The later half focused on maintenance best practices, troubleshooting guides, and spare part strategies. We also discussed long-term support and potential collaborations for future projects across Latin America.

This training wasn’t just about technology transfer—it was about building confidence and ensuring our partners can deploy, operate, and maintain the Statcom with full autonomy. Their feedback was invaluable for our ongoing product refinement
